Aku Pilgrim HL GTX Combat II Black

The Aku Pilgrim HL GTX Combat II Black is a new revised and upgraded evolution of the industry leading Aku Pilgrim HL GTX. The Aku Pilgrim has been the industry standard for lightweight waterproof tactical boots since its inception in 2012.

Featuring full grain leather and high strength Air8000 breathable fabric in the upper, for durability and comfort. They are ideal for wearing in various harsh conditions and weather environments due to their Gore-Tex breathable and waterproof lining and new Vibram nitril rubber outsole.

The Aku Pilgrim MK2 is a ruggedised and upgraded boot compared to the original - Aku have listened to Police, Military and Security users and addressed build, comfort and feature requirements making the Aku Pilgrim HL GTX Combat II Black even more exceptional than the original.

Upgrades:

Redesigned Soles

• MK2: Enhanced Cushioning: The MK2 features a modified Internal Midsole System (IMS). It adds a 3mm layer of high-density EVA foam right under the foot and a thicker bottom layer (up to 17mm under the heel). This was specifically engineered to absorb heavy load-bearing impacts when Running, Jumping or carrying military bergens.
• MK2: Sturdier Sole Unit: The original Navy Seal/early Pilgrim sole wore down rapidly on harsh, rocky terrains. The MK2 introduced a much stiffer, longer-lasting Vibram outsole matched with a carbon-rubber "bycast" rand for significantly improved lateral stability and protection.
• MK2: Improved Walking Ergonomics: The MK2 incorporates an improved toe spring (the upward curve at the front of the boot). This creates a smoother heel-to-toe roll, reducing foot fatigue during long rucking distances.

Upper Construction & Fit Adjustments

• MK2: Asymmetrical Rear Collar: The back collar of the MK2 was redesigned to be a fraction taller at the rear than the original version. This offers superior Achilles support while retaining flexibility.
• MK2: Pronounced Toe Lacing: The lacing system on the MK2 extends further down toward the toes. This allows the user to securely lock down the forefoot, which vastly reduces the risk of lateral torsion and metatarsal injuries on uneven ground.
• MK2: Debris Prevention: The MK2 integrated a fully bellowed and padded tongue/collar system. This seals the gaps along the sides of the tongue to prevent sand, small stones, and mud from creeping into the boot.
