Good boots comfy, but they don't keep your feet cool and dry for a 12 hour shift, my feet are wet with sweat not as good as my old Haix boots,
These boots are a great all rounder! Before moving over to Haix I went through several Altberg boots over the years as I always wanted a boot that would last. I recently changed over to Haix as I wanted a boot that was more of a tactical design. If you know your boots you'll know that Haix has made quality boots over several years!
The Haix GTX Combat boot seemed to tick all the boxes on paper so I decided to give them a ago.
Once they arrived the first thing I noticed is that they were lightweight! Which is great as these boots would be on for 10 hours shifts over 6 days, so been light will help with the comfort side. The boots are leather and gortex, what a great pairing! The fitting of the boot was good and we're a decent height up the leg. One thing I would say is, give the boots a few weeks to bed in. They appear stiff at first, but once they have bedded in they are amazing! They are very comfortable especially on the underneath of my foot. I think this is due to a absorbing sole and decent insoles. The grip pattern on the sole is great, I have had no slips etc and the boots have been through mud, oil, petrol, etc.
This review is quite early on as I have only had the boots around one month, but so far so good. Appear to be great boots! If I had to be critical, they only thing I would say is the design could be slightly better, mainly around the toe area. This been said they are still decent looking boots especially around the ankle and lower leg.
If your after a boot that's lightweight, comfortable and durable, these appear to be the ones that tick all the boxes.
I can't think of a better word to describe these new Hiax boots, I work a 12 hr shift 4 days a week and am constantly on my feet, these boots are extremely light to wear, they offer a great amount of support to the ankles and sit high on your leg which I'd great for me as am tall and I usually find it difficult to find a boot that offers these qualities, they lace up very easy and don't gap in the middle the way most boots do, I would recommend these boots highly.
The haix combat boots are comfortable and suitable for the job. They aren't as good looking as some boots but it's not a fashion show .... your boots need to be comfortable. I like the idea of the gortex and the sunshield to make sure your feet stay at a great temperature... many times previous I've come home with sore feet after they've been too hot.
The only downside to these boots are that I'm short legged so they rub around my calf and are a little too high. Otherwise great product.. x
