BlackRock Ranger SideZip Boot

Have been needing new boots for a while now. What sold them was that they are scanner friendly…. And they are! They are a wee bit ouchy in the ankle for the first couple of days but the foot bed is very comfortable and they have an excellent sole grip. Happy with my choice.

I recently bought these to replace my magnums as they didn’t last very long. The first time I put these black rock boots on I thought yes seem really comfy but 10-15 mins into my shift the boots started to rub on my ankle on one foot and the other foot my little toe felt like it was pinching causing a lot of pain. Couldn’t wait to get them off at the end of my shift. The following night I had to wear them again was dreading the thought of putting them back on but with a little adjustment they were a little better but my little toe was still sore towards end of shift. Hopefully they will get better over time. But will admit they are comfy underfoot and are non slippery sole is a god send.

My initial impression of the boot was good, I liked the presentation of them and the added addition of a handy drawstring bag.

I have worn these boots operationally for the last few weeks and I cannot fault them. They have been put through their paces during this time and stood up to it all. In the last few weeks they have been tested in torrential rain, thick mud and also standing for prolonged periods of time and all passed with flying colours.

I like the flexibility of the zip, and even with a wider foot I have found the getting on and off easily achievable. The soles are thick making it extremely comfortable for a 10 hour shift. I was apprehensive about the lower back but it has been good and I am glad that I gave the brand a try.

All in all I am very happy with this and would recommend to colleagues.

Having worn these boots for almost a month, including almost 2 weeks solid, dealing with a variety of terrain and weather conditions, I can say that they are a very comfortable pair of boots. I was concerned with the underside of the boot, that it there would not be enough grip.

However, I was surprised with how much grip that you get on a variety of surfaces. Wet grass, albeit slippery, held well in comparison to my previous boots.

I was concerned with the height of the boot, initially thinking that it would not support the ankle enough. Again, I cannot fault it, the material is sturdy and comfortable and supported the ankle throughout operational duties.

When wearing the boots, the soles are very comfortable. They support the feet and feel like a pair of expensive walking boots.

Overall, I am very happy with the boots. The main think that I look for when purchasing a boot is comfort and stability. Throughout the month I have had with the boots, I can say without question that these are the most comfortable boots that I have worn.
