,As you may or may not know, every Police Officer and Special Constable in the UK gets issued a Pocket Note Book. This is essentially their diary, which contains lots of important information about incidents that they may attend.
,So, it is a very important document, that people may want to keep safe from scuffs, bumps and daily life!
,Some forces issue Pocket Note Book covers and some don’t and some may want that little bit of extra protection to keep their PNB safe; which is why I bought the Peter Jones Flip Top Notebook Cover.
First thing to say is that you need to make sure that the Notebook Cover you are buying is going to fit, so PatrolStore offer a few sizes and the one I got fit my PNB (Pocket Notebook) very well, with a little extra space either side to protect the edges.
This is a good and bad thing, as PNBs are designed to fit into pockets and with the added material you would have to find a rather large pocket to put it into.
Secondly, the material its made of, leather I believe, is very good quality. Stitching is good and it feels like it will take punishment.
When you open it up it has two ‘pockets’ on it, which is where you put the front and rear cover of your PNB. This is useful so you can protect the pages you’ve filled in already and have the page you’re writing on ready to use when you need it quickly.
The only small feature it is missing is a pen-holder as Officers sometimes have to make notes very quickly, so a pen-holder would be handy so you aren’t searching around one, but if you have lots of pens on you anyway you should find one quickly enough.
For me, it is a very useful bit of kit, your PNB is probably the most important document you have, so it needs to be protected and this does it well. Yes, it is a little big, you cannot name your own and if you like to be super-organised, like me, then a place to put a pen would be handy but they are just niggles rather than major flaws. Very much worth the price.
