PatrolStore has recently completed a rewarding project with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service to provide a number of customised items for their workwear and uniform along with a customised personal effects pouch.
PatrolStore’s fire division were approached to help source and customise a 3-in-1 coat for Surrey Fire and Rescue services firefighters to wear when they are in all non fire fighting settings. The requirement was for a waterproof, insulated 3-in-1 coat with a zip in/out soft-shell jacket instead of the traditional fleece.
Both the coat and the soft-shell were to be marked with FIRE in Surrey Fire and Rescue’s specific red pantone and to make sure that the embroidery was then properly backed to make sure the garments retained their waterproof features.
The second aspect of the customisation was to include a vertical epaulette to allow fire fighters to easily and smartly display their rank sliders. This was made to fit their sliders specifically to give a smart and snug fit and closed with a press stud so that if required the slider can be easily taken off without the danger of loss that Velcro would create if the epaulette was caught on something.
The summer hat is a traditional design that has been adopted by Fire and Rescue Services to protect fire fighters whilst working for prolonged periods in hot summer climates whilst fighting wild fires.
We sourced a hat that met the requirements set out by Fire Service stakeholders and customised it with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service’s embroidery in their specific red pantone.
Customised Folding Baseball Cap
Baseball caps are slowly becoming popular within government, local authority and corporate settings as they provide ease of identification along with protection to the wearer from weather and UV.
We complimented the plain black version of our Op. Zulu folding baseball cap with a print of the Surrey Fire and Rescue crest/logo.The simple split peak folding design allows the user to simply tuck the body of the cap into itself and then fold the peak in half for storage in the included carry pouch or even in the users pocket for quick deployment when needed.
Customised Personal effects / Tool Pouch
When large kit bags are used to transport kit from one station to another or to a deployment site, it is easy to lose personal effects and hygiene items as well as small tool kits and other small technical kit.
A requirement for a multiuse pouch that would offer an all-in-1 solution for these issues was requested. We sourced a pouch that could operate in one of the following ways:
- A standalone pouch that could be stored in the user’s larger bags or their cargo pockets on their workwear uniform.
- It can be secured to molle compatible bags using the included clips
- Worn as a simple shoulder bag using the included shoulder strap.
The pouch is embroidered with a full colour version of the Surrey fire and rescue crest/logo.
This is an example of the type of work our team constantly undertakes with Fire and Rescue Services to provide kit that exactly meets requirements, both technical and budgetary. Kit designed in partnership with one Fire and Rescue Service can easily be re-used or customised for other areas of the UK.
